Serves the community by protecting life, property, and the environment through prevention, community outreach, medical response and fire service.

Fire Prevention

Responsible for safeguarding the community against fire and environmental hazards through public education, enforcement of fire and safety codes, construction plans and special events reviews, and fire investigation and inspection services.

Fire Response and Emergency Services

Provides emergency and non-emergency response services, including fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), surf/ocean rescue, hazardous materials operations, urban search and rescue (USAR), and other calls for public service.

Emergency Management & Disaster Preparedness

Coordinates preparedness, planning, response and recovery from disasters for the more than 200,000 people who live, work, and visit Oxnard.

Community Outreach & Programs

Responsible for increasing engagement of fire safety and prevention programs to better educate and prepare community members
